Mold Testing & Removal · Houston, TX

Mold Doesn't Stand a Chance in a Properly Remediated Home

Houston's humidity, hurricane flooding, slab leaks, and aging HVAC make mold a near-inevitable issue if moisture isn't controlled. We do third-party-grade air and surface testing, full containment, IICRC-certified remediation, and post-clearance verification — so the issue doesn't come back six months later.

Mold Testing & Removal

What you get

  • IICRC-certified remediation
  • Independent third-party testing option
  • Find and fix the moisture source

Why choose us

The mold testing & removal advantage

IICRC-certified remediation

Technicians certified in mold remediation (AMRT) and water damage restoration (WRT). The process follows the ANSI/IICRC S520 standard, not shortcuts.

Independent third-party testing option

We work with independent industrial hygienists for pre- and post-clearance testing, so the lab numbers aren't graded by the company doing the cleanup.

Find and fix the moisture source

Mold without a moisture fix comes back. We bring in our roofing, plumbing, and HVAC trades to kill the cause, not just the colony.

What's included

Everything we handle

One call covers the full scope — parts, labor, cleanup, and documentation.

Mold inspection & moisture mapping

Visual assessment, moisture-meter mapping, infrared scan, and HVAC inspection to find hidden moisture sources behind drywall, under flooring, and in attics.

Air & surface testing

Third-party-lab air sampling and tape-lift surface samples. Comparison samples (indoor vs outdoor) and species identification, not just total spore count.

Containment & negative pressure

6-mil poly containment with zipper doors, HEPA-filtered negative-air machines, and decon chambers — so spores don't migrate to clean parts of your home.

Removal & remediation

Affected porous materials removed (drywall, carpet pad, insulation), structural cleaning with EPA-registered antimicrobials, and HEPA-vacuuming throughout the containment.

Drying & moisture control

Commercial dehumidifiers and air movers to dry the structure to ANSI standards before rebuild. Crawlspace and attic moisture remediation included where applicable.

Post-remediation verification

Independent post-clearance testing, written remediation report, and photo documentation suitable for insurance, real estate disclosure, and future buyers.

FAQ

Mold Testing & Removal questions, answered

Real questions we get, answered without the sales spin.

Do I really need third-party testing?+

For small visible jobs (a few square feet of grout mold, for instance), often no — visible mold gets remediated regardless. For larger jobs, post-leak situations, or anything tied to insurance or real estate, third-party testing protects you against future disputes.

Can I just bleach it and move on?+

Bleach kills surface mold on non-porous materials, but it doesn't penetrate drywall or wood, doesn't address airborne spores, and doesn't fix the moisture source. For anything beyond a small grout-line spot, professional containment and removal is the right answer.

Will my insurance cover mold remediation?+

Sometimes. Sudden water events (burst pipe, hurricane intrusion) often trigger coverage; chronic-moisture-driven mold (slow leak you ignored, AC condensate over years) often doesn't. We document the cause carefully so you can have an honest conversation with your adjuster.

How long does remediation take?+

A small bathroom job is usually 2–3 days from start to clearance. Whole-home post-flood projects can run 2–4 weeks including drying, demo, antimicrobial, and rebuild prep.

Do I need to leave the house?+

For contained, single-room jobs — usually no. For larger projects with whole-home airflow disruption, immune-compromised occupants, or strong antimicrobial use, we recommend relocating for the active phase. We'll tell you straight before we start.

How do I prevent mold from coming back?+

Three things: control humidity (under 55% indoors), fix moisture sources fast (any leak under 48 hours), and keep your HVAC drain line and coil clean annually. Houston's climate is mold-friendly year-round — prevention is cheaper than remediation.

Showed up on time, diagnosed a bad capacitor in ten minutes, and replaced it for a fair price. They didn't try to sell me a whole new system like the last guy.
